Me Made May 2017
– A Mini Roundup

Hey guys, how are you doing? I’ve missed you. And I’ve missed this little space here, so I’m glad to say that I’m back with new posts. It’s summer – the best time for blog photos and just a couple of weeks ago, Me Made May ended. During which I finally found a nice corner in my oh-so-tiny room to take photos in. I didn’t manage to take photos of […]

Drawing of possible dresses for the 2016 Outfit-Along |

My projects for the 2016 Outfit-Along

It’s that time of year again! Last year I had so much fun pushing my knitting skills in Lauren’s and Andi’s Outfit-Along Challenge, so this year I’m definitely joining in again! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, the Outfit-Along (OAL for short) is a yearly challenge, organised by Lauren of lladybird and Andi of Untangling Knots. The aim is to both sew a garment and knit a garment. […]

A Roundup of all my Unfinished Objects |

Moment of truth:
A roundup of all my UFOs

Thank you guys so much for your kind comments on my last post. Just a few days later, I finally finally found a flat share with the most wonderful roommates. You know you got the right kind of people when you spend over an hour chatting, laughing and eating cookies in the kitchen. I’m super excited to move back to the city again! Now let’s move on to today’s post: […]

My Fabric Shelves |

Joining in on the
Stash Less Challenge

Last year, I set an intention to drastically reduce my fabric stash. I haven’t talked a lot about my progress – all of the projects using stash fabric have been tagged rather quietly – but I’m actually very pleased with my progress. So far I used 11 fabrics from the photo in my inital post plus all of my knits. Then I donated a few fabrics to a sewing […]

2015 Outfit Along Cambie Dress |

Outfit Along 2015:
The finished dress

The 2015 Outfit Along is over and now I know it’s possible to knit a cardigan in two months AND make a dress in the same time. Although the dressmaking part didn’t start until two weeks before the due date. Anyway, I thought it was about time to make one of the Greatest Hits of the indie sewing pattern world. Being the only person on the internet who never made a Cambie dress, […]

The Outfit Along 2015:
Planning my projects

With the end of Me-Made May, I’m joining the next challenge in the sewing blogger’s event calendar right away: The „Outfit Along 2015“ is hosted by Lauren of Lladybird and Andi of Untangling Knots and is about creating an entire outfit by knitting a garment and sewing a garment. I am so excited to join this challenge! As a knitting-newbie, who made a hat for almost every day of the […]

Me Made May, the last week

Me Made May 2015:
The last week

May was such a wonderful month. It’s that time of the year when the days get warmer and sunnier and the month with the most holidays (at least here in Germany). On top of that I had a week off from school, went to Copenhagen and used the extra spare time to meet lots of old friends. Plus: Me-Made-May. So much fun! All in all, I feel great about this challenge. While I didn’t succeed in wearing a different outfit with something me-made every day […]

Me Made May: Week 3

Me Made May 2015:
The third week

After initial difficulties in the first two weeks, last week came along much better Me-Made-May-wise. Back at home, with my camera and tripod already set up in the morning, it was much easier to get back into the daily photo routine. Suddenly, chosing what to wear every day was a lot of fun, as was figuring out how to incorporate some older handmade pieces back into my outfits.

Me Made May 2015: The first two weeks

Me Made May 2015:
The first two weeks

So, we’re halfway through Me-Made-May and I’ve already realized one important thing: 31 different outfit photos throughout May are not gonna happen around here. For one, I usually wear an outfit for 2 days in a row (unless my clothes get stained or sweaty). Then again, my wardrobe is rather small and there are several repeating outfits throughout a month as well …

Me Made May 2015!

Can you believe it’s May already? Just four weeks ago I started design school which is both super exciting and super exhausting. Big transitions always are. You haven’t adapted to the new “routine” yet, everything’s new and unknown and it requires much more energy to get through the day. So the last month basically consisted of working and lots and lots of sleep […]

The Wardrobe Architect 2015: My Core Style

Have you heard of Colette’s Wardrobe Architect Project? They write this series on wardrobe planning over at the Colette Patterns Blog. The goal is to find out more about yourself and your style in order to create a small wardrobe that you really feel comfortable in. I am very late to the party, but am going to belatedly join anyway. The idea is just wonderful and after a major cleanout of […]
