May was such a wonderful month. It’s that time of the year when the days get warmer and sunnier and the month with the most holidays (at least here in Germany). On top of that I had a week off from school, went to Copenhagen and used the extra spare time to meet lots of old friends.
Plus: Me-Made-May. So much fun! All in all, I feel great about this challenge. While I didn’t succeed in wearing a different outfit with something me-made every day, I succeeded most of the time. Like, 6 out of 7 days a week. The last two weeks I went a bit crazy and put together a new outfit every day which made me discover skirts that sit on the waist (and two new favourite outfits that I’ll wear to death now).
With the exception of two, I wore every handmade item in my wardrobe at least once. Even those strange yellow corduroy pants. And although it wasn’t a revelation, it made me discover some old favourites. Like the lace Taffy blouse from the Colette Sewing Handbook.
4) Working at home in style in my Burda Danielle dress, 5) Some outfit from last week with my lace Taffy blouse from the Colette Sewing Handbook, 6) my second ever skirt, from IKEA fabric and a Burda pattern
The Me-Made-May photos also gave me the idea for a monthly “Throwback Thursday” series – to introduce you to some garments I made before starting this blog. But first, there’s a new challenge for June and July that I’m more than excited to join. I’ll tell you all about it later today.
But first, thanks Zoe for the Me-Made-May challenge! I had a blast and will definitely join again next year.
