Quick Tip:
Scheduling days for cutting

Tips and Tricks No Comments

I guess everyone has something they like the least about their craft. For me, that’s tracing patterns and cutting fabric. It just takes so much time and feels like “nothing” happens. Plus: In order to install the cutting table in my teeny tiny sewing room, I have to move a lot of furniture around which is annoying and time-consuming.

So I started to schedule specific days for cutting. Days where all I do is to trace patterns and cut out fabric, often for two or three projects at once. It takes a little bit more time, but this way you get that part done all at once and can spend the rest of the month sewing. This method is very convenient for owners of small sewing rooms, too, as it saves you the trouble of moving furniture around all too often.

I personally also find that scheduled cutting days make me work more accurately since I know those days are reserved for cutting only, so I am not impatiently waiting to finally start sewing.

If you’re reading this and you have any more tips on speeding up the cutting process, I would love to hear them.
