Today, I just want to share a quick tip with you about something I learned earlier this month. You might be aware of the Ginger Jeans Sewalong going on over at Closet Case Files. At the beginning of the month, Heather posted about jean making supplies and mentioned a thing called clapper, a handy little tool that helps to lock the moisture and heat into the fabric after ironing.
I couldn’t quite image how it works so I consulted to the omniscient internet and found this video by Angela Wolf in which she explains what a clapper is and how it works. I had never heard of this thing before, but the results seemed pretty cool, so within the last few weeks I tried it with a piece of scrap wood and it worked like a dream.
I’m not sure how long the scrap wood will withstand the moisture and heat from my iron, so a clapper will probably go on my christmas wishlist :-)
